Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL), the largest exporter of India had launched its much awaited small car Hyundai Eon in the month of October’2011 with six variants to choose from. All the variants were powered by a single choice of petrol as fuel and this petrol power-train was capable of providing best in class mileage to its consumers. In order to make life easier for the fuel conscious Indian customer the company has recently launched three upgraded variants that can be alternately powered by LPG besides regular petrol option. The three feature packed variants are Hyundai D-Lite Plus, Hyundai Era Plus and Hyundai Magna Plus.

The new elements in D-Lite Plus include factory fitted standard air-conditioning along with a smooth power steering function for smoother drives in the city conditions, which costs around INR 2.98 Lakh. The feature of front power windows and central locking that ensures fulfillment of important safety aspect is now available with Era Plus version that costs INR 3.12 Lakh. The Magna Plus that is priced at INR 3.42 Lakh have additional characteristics of two-din audio system that provides entertainment to occupants and bids adieu to boring drives and is packed with USB interface combined with some more features.

The excitement of all these attributes becomes twofold with the alternate and pocket friendly fuel choice of LPG, which can be fitted, on order, by the company at an extra cost of INR 27,000.

Engine and Specifications:

There are basically no changes under the bonnet as the New Hyundai Eon comes with a 3-cylinder 814 cc SOHC petrol engine that is capable of generating maximum power of 56 PS of power at 5500 rpm along with topmost torque of 76.5 Nm at 4000 rpm.  This engine easily surpasses the fuel efficiency of prime contender Maruti Alto.

Interiors:

The interiors are as usual roomy as compared to any small car in its segment along with comfortable and premium looking seats that look more attractive with their twin shade. It can seat 4-5 individuals’ easily together headroom and leg room.  There are generally not much amends in the interior part of the small car Hyundai Eon apart from the changes like standard cooling system and power steering in Hyundai Eon D-lite Plus variant while power windows and central locking in Era Plus. The top-end Magna Plus now goes full-on entertainment with 2-din stereo system.

Exterior:

The small car has got everything in the exteriors that one wishes to have as far as the appearance is concerned. The fluidic design is attention grabbing as ever with its styling cues going all over its body along with curvy headlights that are only seen in some premium vehicles. With Hyundai Eon the company continues to follow its tall boy image philosophy that it started with Hyundai Santro Xing.

Mileage:

The small car Hyundai Eon is up with optimum mileage with 21.1 km per litre with its petrol fuel, which is ARAI certified, along with 14km per kg when it comes to utilizing LPG as fuel.
